    How to Play Cajun Stud

    casino table games icons

Playing poker with two cards and three community cards has never be so much fun.”

When playing Cajun Stud, you aren’t playing against the dealer. It’s just you and the other players trying to make a winning combination, high or low.

Before you play, check the layout for the pay tables, other than that you’re good to go. The next step is to take a seat. Watch the dealer shuffle the cards and place your bets in the Ante circle.

If you decide to play with just one bet keep in mind that it’s so oh school. If you make a side bet, you’ll improve your winning chances.

The object of the game is to achieve a winning hand that matches the pay table. Other wagers are the Board Bonus, the optional Poker Bonus, Lo-Ball and Five Card Jackpot Wager.

Once you’ve made your bet the dealer gives you two cards. In return, you’ll have to make a Raise Wager of 1x, 2x, or 3x your original Ante wager or fold.

If you decide to fold away your Ante wager, don’t worry, your side bets will stay in the action. You can play the game for real money at the best online casinos in the USA.

    Community Cards and Raises

The dealer will reveal the first community card. You can make an additional raise of 1, 2x or 3x your original Ante Wager.

Basically, you have one of two options, Raise or fold as such you’ll forfeit your Ante wager and first raise. The dealer then deals the second community card.

Once again you must raise 1x, 2x or 3 your Ante wager or fold. Shortly after the dealer will deal the final community card.

You’ll have to make a five-card poker hand by using your starting cards and three community cards. To win at least even-money. You need a pair of jacks or better, have a look at the pay table for payoffs.

The better your hand the bigger the payout you’ll receive. You’ll earn a push through a pair of 6’s through 10’s. No pairs and lower pairs lose.

    Pocket Bonus

Your bet is on your two-card starting hand if you wagered in the Pocket Bonus spot. To win 10-1 you’ll need at least an Ace or pair to win 5 to 1. Pocket Bonus has an edge to the house of between 4.52 and 9.95 percent.

    Board Bonus

If you placed a wager in the Board Bonus spot, you’re pinning your hopes on the three community cards. In order to win even-money you need a pair – no pair, no money.

The higher the hand the better, if you have a three-card Royal Flush the payout is 50 to 1. The Board Bonus has a house advantage of 2.14 to 7.10 percent.

    Lo-Ball Bonus

The Low-Ball side bet pays when you make a no-pair. Moreover, if it’s a no-straight, no-flush hand with your highest card, a jack or lower.

A losing hand is a queen or higher. Payoffs are as high as 100 to 1 for a 7-high hand of 7, 6, 5, 4, 2. Lo Ball has a house edge 7.18 and 8.71 percent.

    Five Card Jackpot Bonus

When a player makes at least a three-of-a-kind bet on the Five Card Jackpot Bonus he wins. If you score a royal flush, you’ll win the progressive jackpot.

    Cajun Stud House Edge

In Cajun Stud the side bet is part of the house advantage at the casino. The primary game has a house edge that ranges between 1.37 and 5.4 percent.

All in all, Cajun Stud poker is an exciting game to play since there’s so many angles to it.

Once the dealer reveals the community cards, he’ll pay the Raise bets and the Ante bet. The payouts for the Ante and Raise Bets are as follow (Pay tables courtesy of Crushthecasinos.com):

    • Royal Flush pays 500
    • Straight Flush pays 100
    • Four of a Kind pays 40
    • Full House pays 10
    • Flush pays 6
    • Straight pays 4
    • Three of a Kind pays 3
    • Two Pairs pays 2
    • Pair Jacks to Aces pays 1
    • Pair 6s to 10s is a push

You can improve your odds at winning if you receive these payouts. Side bets offer different payouts while the big money is riding with Lo Ball:

    • 7 high pays 100
    • 8 high pays 50
    • 9 high pays 15
    • 10 high pays 5
    • J high pays 1
    • Other hands lose

    Cajun Stud Strategy

The high cards are Jack to Ace, medium cards are 6 to 10 and low cards are 2 to 5. If you have any pair raise.

Make a medium raise if you have one high card, two medium cards or 5/6 suited. Fold if you have two small cards or a small card and medium card (unless it’s a suit of 5-6).

    Verdict: Play Cajun Stud
