It’s that wonderful time of the year again! BigTime Gaming joins the party with its own Christmas slot Christmas Catch. Will it be in the same league as Yggdrasil’s Rock Star Santa MultiMax?Â
We certainly think so. It features 6 reels, 2 to 7 rows, and up to 117,649 paylines. The RTP comes in hot at 96.53% and the jackpot is 31,430x your stake.
We’re seeing plenty of slot studios capping the max bet at $20 to $40 with their newest slot releases. Christmas Catch follows suit with bets from 20 cents to $30 per spin.
It’s a high-variance game that tips the scales an 8/10 on the Whizz’s slots scale. The bonus rounds are the Sleighs and Gift, Free Spins, and Win Exchange. There’s also a feature buy option if you want to get right into the free spins.
Our top BTG casino is BitStarz, once you rock up, they’ll pad your bankroll with a $500 bonus. Plus, you can expect some free spins to play Christmas Catch for real money. Note that they cap wins on their free spin bonuses.
If you’d like to take a breather from playing slots, Bovada is a superb sportsbook and poker site.
Graphics, Audio & Symbols Christmas Catch Slot
BigTime Gaming has the license on all the Megaways™ slot machines. The Aussie studio rips with gorgeous graphics and an easy-on-the-ear audio track.
The symbols on the reels are all about Christmas. The low-value symbols are 9 to Ace which pay anything from 0.25x to 0.5x for 6 matches. The top symbols are the 4 socks that pay as much as 50x for 6.
The Wild symbol only lands on reels 2 to 5 and subs adjacent symbols for a win.
Christmas Catch Slot Bonus Rewards
Sleighs and the Gift Bonuses
A reaction can occur on any random spin that drops a Sleigh on the top section of the reels. One or more Gift Bonus Prizes will pitch when the engine removes the winners from the reels.
Depending on how many symbols, the payout of the Gift Bonus Prize can be as high as 500x.
Free Spins
You’ll initiate 10 free spins when 3 Christmas Pud scatters grace the reels. The slot will hurl an extra 2 free spins your way for every scatter that lands. Santa’s Sleigh bumps up the multiplier value every time it appears starting with 1x.
More importantly, the multiplier values of Sleighs multiply each other. You’ll bag an extra 4 or more free spins when 3 or more scatters appear. Anything more than 3 scatters awards an extra 2 spins.
Win Exchange
If you’re wondering what the Win Exchange is all about, it’s just another way to get into the free spins. You’ll trigger 10 free spins when you win 100x or more.
You can gamble wins from 25x to 100x on the gamble wheel to score 10 free spins. It’s a win-win and a unique feature of BigTime Gaming.

What We Like and Don’t Like About Christmas Catch
Slots with Christmas themes are a dime a dozen this time of the year. They usually don’t stick around for long. Unless, of course, it’s an exceptional slot like Big Bass Christmas Bash.
The Christmas Catch slot has plenty of extras that could extend its shelf life but time will tell.
Tips & Strategy
We contacted BitStarz to find out if they have any forthcoming promotions on the slot. They told us BTG hasn’t released the slot yet. However, they will run a special on it when it hits the shelves.
Ask the casino to give you a small free chip to test it. But, you must be able to demonstrate that you’re serious about business. Other than that, give the slot a whack in demo mode, and play it for real with a bonus.
How to Win Money Christmas Catch
We never really had luck with BTG’s slots despite their hefty sales pitch. Make no mistake their graphics are mint, but they’re rather “stingy”.
They’ll still give you the odd win, but nothing to thank Santa for. Anyhow, we gave the slot a good old whack for 50 spins for the max stake of $30. Turns out our “premonition” was right.
So, after 50 spins and a few forgettable wins of 3x to 10x the stake we lost $1,500. Look, by no means is it a bad slot. It can be a cracking game since it has free spins and the Sleigh feature.
This is one slot you want to sample before you buy.
Christmas Catch caught us good, and we intended that pun. We think it’s one of the better releases from BTG and we like the growing multipliers.
Meaning, when the Sleigh lands it starts with a 1x, and for every Sleigh thereafter increases the multiplier. Unfortunately, its 50 spins are not going to cut it playing this slot.
A proper assessment would be at least 400-500 spins. We felt the absence of the buy option, and the volatility was sharp. It’s not one of those slots you smack hard within a few spins.
It’s like those old diesel engines of yesteryear that take some time to warm up before it gets going.
