Since Easter is around the corner, Play’n GO is like that early bird that catches the worm. Their newest release Easter Eggspedition comes off the back of the Chamber of Ancients.
The online slots community received it well, let’s hope Easter Eggspedition emulates it. Rattling off the tin can’s ingredients it has 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 paylines. The RTP is okay at 96.29% but there are RTP ranges as low as 84.28%.
The topcash prize is 10,000x the stake with a medium variance flavor. It’s not often we get to review a slot with a $1 million jackpot that’s in the mid-range.
The graphics, animations, and the audio track pop which makes for a pleasant playing experience. You can spin the reels for bets from 20 cents up to $100 per spin. The funny thing is the slot machine gave off that “Mariachi” vibe.
A little town serves as the backdrop for the reel set. The main protagonist of the slot is the rabbit with a superhero costume. There’s also a fox that gave us a few chuckles.
The low-value cards from 10 to Ace pay up to 3.5x your stake. Moving into the high pays, they are candy bowls, pots with eggs, signposts, and painting utensils. The premium symbol pays as much as 25x the stake for 5 matches.
Gameplay and Features
Instant Prize Bonus
You’ll receive a cash prize when 3 or more Easter Egg Baskets pitch. Whilst the bonus round is underway, you’ll either land Easter Egg Baskets or empty reels.
Cash Pot with Multipliers
You’ll collect the prizes you received in the Cash Pot as well as multipliers. Moreover, you’ll encounter the framed positions namely the Super Bynny and the Foxy Loot.
You’ll start with 3 respins and when an Easter Basket or Super Bunny lands, they reset the respins to 3. The bonus game grinds to a halt when you run out of respins. Or, when the Easter Eggs Baskets or Super Bunny no longer pitch.
Instant Prizes
The Instant Prizes is a pick-me game where you must reveal symbols to win a cash prize. Prizes include wins from 0.5x up to 10x your stake. The slot will also add all your wins into the Cash Pot.
Each reveal offers a multiplier win of 2x which doubles the Cash Pot’s value. Once the Easter Egg Basket offers you a cash prize they disappear, until the next spin.
Super Bunny
You’ll win the Cash Pot’s value when the Super Bunny pops onto the reels. Interestingly, the value of the Cash Pot stays the same for the next few respins.
The Easter Egg Basket offers a cash prize while the Foxy Loot resets the Cash Pot’s value to zero. The maximum number of respins you can win is 155.
Paylines & Paytable
What We Like About Eggspedition
The cutesy visuals and the bonus rounds with those Cash Pot Multipliers can yield wins up to 10,000x. Considering the size of the jackpot the volatility is good.
Tips & Strategy
You know we had a tough time playing this slot because it’s misleading to a degree. Play’n GO drops a ball-breaker and we had to slug it out, at least with free credits.
After 50 spins in free-play mode, we stopped playing the slot. Despite triggering the Instant Prize Bonus a few times the payouts we got from it were poor. It’s one of those slots that could do with a buy option.
Verdict: Easter Eggspedition Slot
After a cracking release such as Chamber of Ancients, Play’n GO missed the pot with Easter Eggspedition. It’s one of those games where monotony sets in pretty fast.
After 50 spins we threw in the towel and labeled it an underwhelming slot. Even though Easter came early this Easter Bunnies won’t be returning to it again.
Playing it at the lowest stake yielded a few wins of 4x the stake, but that’s it. The jackpot of 10,000x the stake is good. Another thing we picked up was the maximum 2x multiplier the Cash Pot offers.
Your chances are better to catch a fly with chop sticks than landing a big win. We sincerely hope that we’re wrong. On that note, we part ways with Easter Eggspedition.
