RTP and Symbols

Nucleus Gaming did not include the RTP in their datasheet. The symbols on the reels appear against the backdrop of a busy street. The graphics are in cartoon format along with an upbeat audio track.

The fire hydrant is the wild that substitutes symbols during winning combinations. It’s also the premium symbol that pays 5x the stake for 5.

The remainder of the symbols are the dogs of different breeds. The low-value symbols are the balls, steak, food bowl, collar, and bone.

Bonus Rounds

Hold & Win

You’ll trigger the Hold and Win bonus when 6 or more Golden Bone Bonus symbols land. A new screen opens awarding you 3 respins. The respins reset to 3 for every Bonus symbol that appears.

Each bonus symbol locks onto the reels with values ranging from $0.20 to $10,000. The bonus round ends when you run out of respins or 20 Bonus symbols populate the reels.

If you can accomplish the latter, you’ll win the jackpot. The value of each bonus symbol combines for a final payout.

Special Bonus

The Hold and Win Bonus has an extra treat the Special Bonus. The Bullterrier or the Shapeshift symbol transforms into a different dog.

The Daschund Collects all the symbol values on the reels. The Pug reveals an Extra symbol with values from 3x to 100x and chooses a random symbol. The final symbol is the Corgi.

When it lands it selects two to four random symbols and doubles their values 2x to 5x. Before the hold and win bonus commences you must pick a special bonus.

Tips and Strategy

When the bonus initiates you must choose a special symbol. If it doesn’t land the bonus ends, making it expensive and risky.

I had better luck with the “Hold and Win” feature via manual triggers. In other words, I slugged it out waiting for 6 or more bonus symbols to land.

Don’t even think of playing the slot to win money with a bonus. Not sure what Nucleus Gaming had in mind when they designed it.

It’s too volatile and you must contend with the bonus terms. Though I dig the theme I didn’t enjoy the game.

Verdict

I only played the slot for 40 spins because I didn’t enjoy it. Nucleus Gaming follows a carrot-and-stick approach.

The Hold and Win bonus has a “sneaky” twist that entails Special Symbols. Before the bonus commences you must choose one.

If it doesn’t pitch the bonus round ends abruptly offering a small cash prize. Despite a strong first impression, the lack of an exciting bonus game makes it fizzle out quickly.

Does it make the slot a repetitive slog? Yes, I won’t play it again for free or real money.
