Book of Heroes
Book of Heroes is a Microgaming slot with 5 reels, 3 rows, and 10 paylines. The interesting thing about the new online slots for real money is that it’s in partnership with Golden Rock Studios. It has a fantasy theme and packs some serious bonus rounds. All in all, it’s worth playing. Continue reading our full online slot review of Book of Heroes.
For bonus rounds, you can look forward to Book symbols and Free Spins. Not much, but this is the typical combo we expect from a “Book of” slot!
The action is highly volatile, with the max win clocking in at 5,640x your bet. That’s as solid as ever and the stats are good overall. You’ll get to some dry runs, but big base game wins are possible. You can play for peanuts by betting $0.10 per spin. The big spenders can play the slots for real money up to $40. Book of Heroes is also available as a mobile slot at the best real money slots mobile casinos!
The RTP of Book of Heroes is 96.06%. A shade above average, then. There are no RTP ranges either. In other words, you’ll get the same math model across casinos. No worries about hunting down the best version.
Visually, Book of Heroes is a serious treat. The graphics are wonderful and range from card ranks to swords, bows, and hero characters. The production values are high and so are the base game wins. There might be few paylines, but full line wins award big payouts. Even the low-value symbols pay up to 15x your bet. The high-value symbols drop wins of up to 500x your bet for a full line! That’s five symbols in a row, if you were wondering.
Like other slots with the “Book of” formula, Book of Heroes has double-role Book symbols. They work as both Wilds and Scatters. In other words, they sub for adjacent symbols and also trigger the Free Spins Feature. For 3, 4, or 5 Book symbols, you’ll get 8 free spins with a 2x, 20x, or 200x payout, respectively.
Trigger the feature and you’ll get to the Book of Heroes Totem. First, you’ll get your Expanding Symbols chosen at random. Then, you’ll get either additional free spins or remove one of the pay symbols from the reels. This can go on for a while to give you more modifiers.
Note that you can retrigger free spins as well. When you do, you’ll get to the Book of Heroes Totem again. This means even more modifiers and Expanding Symbols!
The general model is enjoyable, it’s the “Book of” style of gameplay with a twist. It can be high variance, so play conservatively. Or try the slot as a free slot first to get an idea of what you’re getting into.
We didn’t go overboard with our bets either and played it cool. Book of Heroes rewarded us with a straightforward experience. We enjoyed its visuals, for one. They aren’t too original, but the designers spent some time perking it all up.
It makes for some serious eye candy and we wouldn’t complain one bit. Big wins are possible, too. To get to them, you need to trigger the Free Spins Feature. Then retrigger it a couple of times to improve is payout potential to the max. We got only to a single respin, but it worked well. We grabbed a 146x payout, which made our day. Note that you can go even higher if you get lucky enough with the retriggers. It’s not as easy as it sounds, though. Even initial triggers are hard to come by!
Book of Heroes is a good effort from Microgaming that shows just how much its partners can deliver. It builds on the “Book of” formula and adds a nice thematic twist to it with all the heroes. The production values are high and you can get modifiers for your free spins as well. In other words, it’s the complete package, with a high 5,000x+ jackpot to boot!
