Where to play?
Playtech’s Baywatch video slot is based on the popular television series that graced the silver screen during the 1990s. The star of the TV series back then is none other than Pamela Anderson; she had millions of male viewers (me included) across the globe glued to their TV screens.
Baywatch is a 20 payline, 5 reel slots with 5 bonus modes, it includes a free spins feature that awards 12 free spins, wilds and scatters. The interesting bit about the game is that it entails 3 lifeguard features. The best of the lot for me is the ”Neely Capshaw” one since it awards an extra 6 free spins with multiplier wins of up to 8x! Baywatch offers a non-progressive jackpot win of 3,000 coins and a return to player percentage (RTP) of 96.3%.
Symbols that appear on the reels are the stars of the series Pamela Anderson (wild), Caroline Holden, Matt Brody, Neely Capshaw, cards from 9 to Ace and the lifeguard buoy. The symbols that offer the top cash prizes are Pamela and CJ Parker. The visual side of the slots is really good further complimented by a slew of bonus features.
Bets can be made from 20 pence up to £500 per spin but we advise to enable all 20 paylines to gain the maximum from the game in the event of a payout.
CJ Parker Feature
Of the 5 features the first one is the ‘Rescue’ feature which is triggered when the Rescue symbol pops up on the 5th reel. You will then be presented with two features. The first is the CJ Parker Re-spins feature which awards you 1 re-spin with 4 extra wilds. What I like about this feature is that scatters can act as wilds too.
Lifeguard Mini Bonus
The ‘Lifeguard Mini’ Bonus feature starts when 15 lifeguard symbols appear on your screen-your job here is to uncover them and to match 3 of a kind in order to receive a payout. The one that offers the top cash prize is CJ Parker, hit 10 of them and you’ll win 10x your stake.
Of the bonus games mentioned so far the free spins feature is hands down the best and triggered by 3 Baywatch scatters. Once triggered you will receive 12 free spins with 3 stacked lifeguard symbols. You will also be presented with three free spins options, each of them offers you an extra 6 free spins with additional features. The appropriate lifeguard feature will be initiated by the corresponding lifeguard when it covers the centre reel.
During the ‘Caroline Holden free spins you’ll get an extra 6 free spins attached to it are multiplier wins of 3x. On the 3 centre reels wilds appear stacked as well boosting wins. During the ‘Matt Brody’ free spins you’ll get an additional 6 free spins while the Matt Brody symbol is the wild. Should the Matt Brody icon pitch on reel 1 it remains locked on the reels until the feature is completed.
When 3 scatters (Baywatch) symbols appear any place on the reels the free spins feature is initiated awarding you 12 free spins. During the lifeguard features you can only win a set amount of free spins but here you can win an unlimited amount.
Playtech’s Baywatch slots brings back a bunch of memories and teleports one back to a time where life was less complicated and fun. It’s an entertaining slots but I’ve noticed that some of the features can drag a bit to long for my liking. Of the 3 ‘Lifeguard’ features the Neely Capshaw offers the biggest wins thanks to those 8x multipliers. Unfortunately Baywatch is not for the high rollers since it does not offer any big wins and only for die-hard fans.
