One of our staff members came up with a very interesting video poker topic during one of our office meetings. As such this prompted us to take a closer look at the numbers in video poker. The title “Adam” (not his real name) proposed is; “Revealing The Numbers: Using The Odds To Improve Your Chances of Winning”.

For the most part, we discuss the best and forthcoming real money slot releases. We play the games for free or with reel cash. The net result thereof is our comprehensive online slot reviews.

Online gambling entails a holistic approach. In other words, it’s not always about playing slots. In fact, our best and legal casinos online in the USA cover a variety of casino games in their portfolios. A casino game that many players often overlook including ourselves, is video poker.

Of all the casino games for real money, video poker has the highest payout percentage, 99.54%. More than any other casino game! Crazy we know. Without further ado let’s jump into it.

Using The Odds In Video Poker To Help You Win

The video poker variant we used to best illustrate our point is Jacks or Better. Do you know how many times the winning hands show up in video poker? If you do, congratulations, you’re already a successful video poker player! For the sake of our video poker readers, we’re going to discuss the numbers. Bear with us a moment, thank you.

If you arm yourself with the knowledge we’re about to share with you. You’ll improve your odds at winning when you play video poker with real money online. So, how do you accomplish this feat? First, we suggest you keep track of all your video poker sessions. Secondly, analyze your short terms performance of the video poker machine you’re playing.

Did you know that if you play Jacks or Better at optimal capacity; you can produce a winner on every 2.20 hands? To simplify matters for you. For every 100 hands, you play Jacks or Better; you’ll receive approximately 45 winning hands.

As you can see it’s quite easy to keep track of your performance, right? That’s to say, counting the winning hands for every group of 100 hands.

What Is Optimal Video Poker Betting Strategy?

Before we press on we briefly want to discuss video poker’s optimal betting strategy. The first thing to do is to learn the video poker variant you want to play. In this case, it’s Jacks or Better. The next thing is to play smart. By this, we mean you the video poker variant’s rules, odds, and betting strategy. Never rush your hands, pick the right cards and bet the max 5 credits.

Video poker is one of few real money casino games that offer you the highest odds. The best part about video poker; it enables you to influence its outcome and the house edge it low. Video poker gives you anonymity. You don’t have to worry about pit bosses. Or, fellow players frowning at the hand you just played. And, you can play video poker at your own pace.

How Many Different Winning Hands Will I See?

Over the course of your 100 spins, you should see at least one Full House and a Straight Flush. Moreover, you’ll receive 7 trips or three-of-a-kind, 13 two pairs, and 21 jacks or better. If you choose to simplify matters during your sessions. You can track the royal flushes, straight flushes, and four-of-a-kinds.

Once you played 100,000 Jacks or Better hands at the optimal betting strategy you should have seen the following. You should have received 236 four-of-kinds, 11 straight flushes, and 2 to 3 royal flushes. If you keep track of your sessions, hopefully, you’ll still be in the black.

Ultimately, it really doesn’t matter which Jacks or Better pays schedule you play. As long as the numbers don’t change. The reason for this is because your betting strategy still remains the same.

How To Play Jacks or Better?

The video poker machine deals you 5 cards. Pick the best card combination, hold them, and discard the cards you don’t want. Click on ‘Deal’.
